If you are buying Coca-Cola you may not realize that you are not just buying a drink, you are also buying the opportunity for one of the most dangerous and powerful companies to continue absorbing people’s lives, economy, and the planet.
What is Coca-Cola doing wrong?
My project aims to inform and enlighten people in our society about what Coca-Cola is doing wrong. We live in a society that is fueled by consumerism which is not sustainable for us and our planet. If we keep up with today’s consumer pace, we will soon have nothing left. It is time that we as a society take charge of what is right and wrong. We can’t let giant corporations do as they please anymore. It is not the people of the societies fault that we are buying Coca-Cola products, instead we need to shift over the responsibility to the larger corporations in order for us to change our path. With my series of images, I hope to deliver a message that will make the spectator realize how bad Coca-Cola is for us people and what consequences it has to our planet and our generations to come if we don’t change now.
Conclusion
In my research, I have come to the conclusion that I won’t be able to solve this problem. But what I can do instead is to help and inform people of what Coca-Cola is doing wrong and show them what will happen if we don’t take action now. I can do this by telling people how coca-cola
Is bad for their health and the climate.
First of all, I didn’t know that the Coca-Cola company was so deeply rooted in our world economy. With our today’s high pace of consumer behavior, we have the urge to spend money on things we really don’t need. Coca-Cola is considered to be a luxurious item and is available in almost every food store around. Coca-Cola spends huge amounts of money on advertisements. This makes it almost impossible to ignore Coca-Cola as we live our daily lives. And since we are being exposed to it every day the probability of buying Coca-Cola increases.
Secondly, I didn’t know just how addictive and dangerous it is for us to drink Coca-Cola. When we drink Coca-Cola our pleasure center in our brain is being stimulated which is similar to the effects of Heroin. There are no nutritional benefits of drinking Coca-cola and it can increase the risks of obesity, diabetes, ADHD, and tooth decay, it also impacts our liver and kidney in a negative way. It also has a negative impact on our brain which can lead to dementia or stroke.
Since Coca-Cola and Pepsi are the main competitors in soft drinks the choices we make when buying Coca-Cola or Pepsi are not ours. We are being manipulated by the commercials into believing that we need to drink Coca-Cola and since it is also addicting we get hooked on it and buy it even more. And because of its influence on today’s economy, we simply cannot stop its business.
The scenario created from this is similar to a ticking time bomb with a fuse that has been lit on both sides. If we let Coca-Cola maintain its power there is little we can do to stop them from draining us dry.
Therefore I have created a series of images that will cover some negative aspects of what Coca-Cola is doing wrong. With my series, I hope to deliver a message which shows a glimpse of the harsh future that may lie ahead of us if we don’t make a change now.
It is not people’s fault that we buy their products, instead, it falls onto the bigger corporations to make this change happen. By spreading awareness and educating people on societal issues that currently exist we can perhaps change the outcome of our future.
