#selfie – A self-reflective venture into the realms of Instagram

It has never been easier to be distracted than it is today. What happens when one’s attention constantly flickers between on-screen and off-screen impressions?

#selfie is a project that investigates the side effects of the social media platform Instagram on its younger users. It focuses on how Instagram influences the way that humans interact and live with each other, and how it changes people’s feelings, thoughts, and behaviours.

But is extensive usage of online social media really negative, or just a sign that new forms of co-existence are evolving? The result of this investigation is a collection of comics, illustrations, reflective writing and conversations with different Instagram users.
