Public spheres and color – Color use in public spaces in Kalmar
Public sphere is a matter of substance in a democratic society. The visual settings of a city could impact a wide range of people in a society, and many of us are today victims of depressions. That is why, in this work, I have investigated the use of colors in current public spheres. I explore color use, and combine it with collected individual viewpoints by Kalmar inhabitants to seek new aspects towards a positive and usable public sphere.
The outcome resulted in an explorative visualization into the format of an interactive webpage and survey. The intention with this project is to empower inhabitants’ voices around future decision makings designing for new public spheres. All this, with the aspect of colors. How would you like your local public spheres, and what could it do for your well-being?
