100 Years of Queer History – Letting the past inspire the future
100 Years of Queer History is a design project that highlights the importance of queer history and how gaining knowledge of the past inspire us to make changes for the future. The project embraces the intersectional fact that different struggles of discrimination are interlinked and can only be solved if we work together. We visualised this by creating an illustrative, fluid timeline of queer history that visually express that all the moments and individuals are interlinked.
We are aware that our project does not include all queer history, instead we focus on those who often been ignored or unrepresented, when in reality they played a pivotal role in queer history. The goal of our project is to educate people on certain aspects from queer history and inspire them to take new actions for current issues, to inspire people to become the history of our future.
